Check Engine Light and Running Hot

Check Engine Light and Running Hot
So my check engine light came on today, at 22295 miles. Is this just a warning for some service? Or should i actually worry right away.
Also, how hot does everyone's car run? It seems that lately mine has been running hotter than usual, but not to high, just wondering what some of the averages were???

RE: Check Engine Light and Running Hot
If you read your manual, normal operating temperature can range anywhere from the line above cold to the line right below warm. Normal operating temperature when I had a stock thermostat was around 200-210 degrees. But my guess is something else may be your issue. Flick your key as stated above and get us the code.

RE: Check Engine Light and Running Hot
i found in the haynes manual it means "shorted condition in downstream oxygen sensor heater control feedback sensing circuit". so i would guess that your O2 sensor is bad(downstream is the one that's in the cat). i would ask the dealer about it because that should still be under warranty. your cat might be bad which caused the sensor to go bad, but i would ask the dealer to see what they say.
