And if you can find a 02 SS that is your best bet. It had 325HP as the 00 SS had 305HP. I have seen a stock SS run a 13.2 in the 1/4. The same SS now with headers, exhaust, cai, tune, slicks hits mid 12's all day
Ok but why is that I have researched and the 00 and 02 LS1 are exactly the same....I know I really would like to have the SS but I may be qualifying for a State Lemon Law. I have had so many problems a state lawyer is looking into the matter at this time! Wish me luck

The LT1 was ended in 97 for the Corvettes and i believe in 98 for the Camero and Trans AMs and they went to LS1's in those years.
R U sure the 2k Camero SS was only 305hp? i thought it was 325 due to the Ram air intake?
I know w/ the LT1's the base HP was 285ish and ram air bumped it to 305 and i thought i was sure the LS1's base was 305 and a 325 with the ram air....... i could be wrong ------ 345bhp in the Vette.

Oh i wanted to add if you get a standard be advised that the syncros have a tendency to go out. To solve this have a Steel 3-4 gear shift fork installed. The Stock Aluminum fork in the T56's has a tendency to Bend / Crack under hard shifting tearing the shiz outa the syncros.
Other than that the Car should run great.
Sorry I just realized what I was talking about in my head but I didn't put it in the posts. I was thinking of the difference between the Z28 and the SS. The Z28 had 310HP while the SS had 325. But every time I read about the 02 35th Anniversry SS it said that it was the fastest one the magazine or group has tested. Anyway at the end of the day to hit the low 12's takes only 2k with any modern SS
