Whats Under Your Hood?
Under my hood is very boring. Just a few extra wires, a fuse holder, and a few liquid lines. Oh, my wastegate actuator looks a bit odd, and my MAP sensor has this little silver sticker "3 Bar MAP sensor"
If you didn't know exactly what to look for, you would swear its stock. And it almost is

Oh, and that intermittant ,"bobble" is the best term I have come up with for that weird not-stumble thing. I was talking to a VERY knowledgable gentleman who has EVERY reason to know, and I was told that this is perfectly normal for all SRT-4s, they refer to it as a "ghost stumble". He gave me no details other than that, so I know nothing else, but do know I am not worried about it.
Mine does that when I shut it off, but I too was told by a reliable source that it was normal and nothing to worry about....[&:]
500+, nice. I would love to know how much the one in my pic has, it was at the Neo Classics for show and it never even got started let alone make a pass down the track. [sm=smiley13.gif] I would love to have seen it run though. Here is another pic of it:

yeah... wouldnt that be nice to have a sponser? i knew the 3000gt was goin to be mine when i test drove it and was on the freeway at 80 in 6th down shifted to 4th and got it to 140 like it was in first. i love my srt but it cant hold a flame to that car.... i miss her [sm=smiley19.gif]
the middle years had active aero (94-96) and yes they are great top end cars, if u get rid of the govener then u can hit 180 no prob stock, and with stock gears you can get to 130 in 3rd...MMMmmmm sadly the 5th piston went boom and the old owner of the car told me he would fix it and he messed it all up so i made him buy it back.
I'll be. Your quite right about them having the active aero earlier, an article I had read years ago on the '98 3000GT said that it was a new feature.[sm=smiley29.gif] I had previously never knew of their active exhaust.[sm=smiley3.gif]
180 MPH, I don't think so. Not even if it were pushed out of a C-130.[sm=smiley36.gif] The top speed on a stock '97 3000GT VR4 320 horsepower with 6-spd. is 155 MPH to 160 MPH non-governed. As far as I have found, they don't even have a speed limiter on them. Motor Trend tested several high performance cars in a top speed competition, one of which was a 320 horsepower 3000GT VR4 and it reached a top speed of 155.7 MPH. After looking at the specs on the 320 HP VR4's I found this to be their average performance:
0-60 MPH: 5.4-5.8 secs.
1/4 mile: 13.4-13.9 secs. @ 97-103 MPH
Top Speed: 155-160 MPH
Weight: 3,700-3,800 lbs.
Flywheel HP: 320
Wheel HP: 238
Drag: .33
No matter how many gears it has, 180 MPH is not possible in a stock 3000GT VR4. And 130 MPH in 3rd gear....[sm=smiley36.gif]. In fact, the VR4 seems to be almost identical in performance to the SRT-4.[sm=smiley2.gif]
That had to suck having that happen to your car.[sm=smiley19.gif]
