Will a 3/8 rubber hose collapse under the vacuum pressure.I notice the stock one was a hard plastic.

the stuff that came with my catchcan sure did after only a few days. its homedepot kinda lookin stuff:

I replaced it with the stock plastic line going under the intake manifold and used 3/8 heater hose from the autoparts store for the rest. my vac is now back to normal and it seems to be holding up just fine.

the other stuff was being heated to the point where it was kind of taking on an oval shape, hence the reflective loom around it. it was also pinching where it was being bent in a complete 180 by the pvc.

its all only 3/8 diameter, just very thick rubber with braid, for the reason will brought up and so it dosent pinch as easily, like that other homedepot stuff did.

as for the 2nd occ, the answer in short is yes. if you look at the foam piece in your stock airbox, there is probably oil there. but not nearly as much oil gets passed through the valvecover vent. but thats still oil in your intake and turbo. the other option is capping your intake and putting a breather filter on the vent.

I used the clear braided stuff that came with my Perrin OCC and it's worked just fine. The Perrin OCC is sitting in a drawer in a bedroom somewhere.

For regular applications, just ask the counter person at your favorite auto parts store for some 3/8", 50 PSI, SAE 30R7, Fuel/Emission hose made by Goodyear. Good stuff.
