newbie here with some questions
Hey guys, i'm looking to purchase a SRT4....I'm fixing to turn 20 and i've had 6 mustangs...I lost interest in them, they aren't much fun. Plus i start my career soon in january and I need something dependable. I've never really been a fan of neons, but I love the SRT4's. What year models should I look at? I've heard the 04-05's have the most power. Any problems of the 03-05's? I'd like to do a few things to it, maybe something like a stg 2. just to make it a lil more fun to drive. Whats the price range i'll be looking at? I've seen them from 11-16k.
Thanks guys for the info!

Hmmmmmm,,,,,,,,,,,,,lets see you're 19 and you've had 6 mustangs so far. How old were you when you started driving 6 ? Seriously though, I'd like to say avoid the 2003's but then PSI Chick might kick my *** . Still, I'd stick with the 04-05's,,,,,,,, even if she does want to kick my ***. They had more factory HP and LSD.

03 did nto have limited slip, a little bit expensive of an add-on when you could just get an 04plus. but besides that they are very dependable and decently quick. How come so many mustangs, did they keep dying on you or something? 03 had 215hp, 04/05 have 230 stock. not too many differences really but the diff. is a plus for 04.
only big problem i can think of is oil blowing by the pvc (and crankcase vent). a simple OCC will fix this on the pvc and another OCC or breather on the crankcase vent will fix this. $100 fix. also, the factory rims are only 6" wide, so 205s are bout the widest you can safely go onthem. oh, factory boost gauges like to break. one last thing ill mention is if you plan on driving it in the winter youll need some good snow tires.
even start out w/o the S2, it will still be fun to drive.

well i got my first one when i was 15. I totaled one, which was my dumbass fault....but the others just came and gone...i really lost interest in them. Esp. after i got my *** handed to me by a SRT4..and I had a girl in the car with me.. ha ha but thanks for the info guys, i'll be looking at the end of the year. Hopefully I can find one, cause I start my career and I can afford stuff I want now How much did yall end up paying for the car? I found a few nice ones on ebay...one was a 03 with 36k miles for 13,500..and in autotrader theres a 04 Redfire with 28k miles for 11,995. I'm guessing insurance isn't that bad either cause its a compact 4 dr?
Thanks guys!
