How do I go about making sure that I have the right A/F ratio?

ORIGINAL: slysliknwiked

it will still be cheaper to buy a used stage 1 kit and getting it reflashed than buying it new just like dusty said as long as its for your year car, now boosting up to 17 psi is not dangerous for your car, you just have to have the right a/f ratio and your good, i have about 10 of my friends boosting at about 20 psi and there car is still running strong, like my car im boosting 20 psi spiking on the stock turbo and my car is running good, but i have the a/f right, if you run high boost and your too lean then you will have problems, thats a good little setup your trying to buy i would go that route if i were you but just like dusty said watch out with warranty and get it done right, good place to look for good prices is modernperformance . com

If your looking to go cheap, I'll make it easy on ya... There's a local guy in my area selling a 05 stg 1 pcm used for $300 shipped. You can either have your local dealer flash it for you or send it out to Flight Systems & for $25 they will flash it for you.

As for a wga/mbc combo, pick up a Kinetic set. Brand new, the kinetic wga is $105 and the mbc is $55. You have all three available parts for under $500 shipped to your door.

If your not looking to "tune" or tweak anything, save your money and invest in the stg 2 WITH toys kit. Don't waste your money on stg 2 w/out toys. That's like buying a PS2 with no controller.

I was just thinking, am I better off just saving a few hundred more bucks and get the Stage 2 w/o toys?

That's what I did - ordered S1 and within 24 hours I had the order upgraded to S2.

Incase noone knows the "tone ring" is a metal ring with 2 bolt holes and it looks like a saw blade with teeth on it....and it lines up your camshafts with your crankshafts!!!!.......It costs about $20.....but if it breaks it WILL cause alot of problems

you will need an a/f gauge, one of the most common and accurate ones out there is the AEM one.
