bov releasing too much pressure!?!?!?
it never boosted low b4. the car has never really "held" a steady 15 psi, but it has spiked to 15 (usually hold @ 13). but now i cant even get a spike past 10 or 11. but like i said, there is no constant release from the bov anymore...however i thought that i might had heard a steady blowing sound on my way into work this morning. so maybe i didnt get it right..i dunno...exhaust is too loud to tell! but all and all i think i like the thru and thru exhaust
Make sure everything is installed per the instructions that came with the BOV. Also check to make sure you didn't overtighten the bolts causing the purge valve flanges to bow upbetween the bolts creating a gap that will leak.
i do know a couple of guys with srt's around here that are know a lot more than i do, so were supposed to get together sometime soon. its kinda hard with it being the holidays and all, but if i did overtighten the bolts and it is leaking that wont do any harm to anything will it? do i need to stay out of the throttle?
look just check your intercooler hoses and everything else that has claps, also vacuum hoses .Grab a ratchet and socket and tighten them up a little bit more, if you overtight'em then just got to a local autoparts store and buy some claps, they're only a couple bucks. And i don't think a loose hose will do much harm, it just won't boost that good, but you should be ok, just don't go crazy with that ratchet lol
actually ill fall down close to 11psi when it gets madd cold out, but never 5. so if your weather has changed this may account for SOME of your boost loss, but sounds like you need a boost leak detector. plug it up and see where its coming out
well it's not like they sell'em at your local autoparts store u know....srtforums got great advice on how to make one, just need to do some small shopping at home depot and a compressor at 25 psi...hook it up where the intake goes and soon you'll hear the hissings sound...that's your leak right there
