bov releasing too much pressure!?!?!?
guys & gal......i finally put my mopar bov on and i think i fouled somethingup.....suprise suprise! when i get into full throttle for some reason this thing is letting out constant pressure. im also only at 8 psi. so now i have to spend my sunday goin backin there and tryin to fix whatever mistake i had made. can anyone give me anything to look for off the top? i was reading the directions and it said to put the crescent shape on the bov aligned with the vaccum line, but when i put it like that thats not the way that it came from the factory..anyone got an idea
Also don't forget to check your pressure wire. There's a pink wire that goes to the stock BOV, justabove your Mopar BOV. Make sure that this wire is plugged. I had the same issue when I installed my Stage 2. I had too much pressure and that wire just puped out. I spent over 6 hours to realize that it was unplugged. It would of take me only 2min. don't do the same mistake! If you don't see a pink wire, look under your intake or behind your battery.
all i can say is what has been said about making sure its not on backwards and checking the connections to the bov and turbo. also, make sure your gasket is on correctly.
ok..i found the problem as to why my car is idleing funny. on the vacuum port at the base of the turbo there is a blue hose that runs to the # 3 sensor on the intake box(stock)...that plastic peace broke of inside the rubber nipple...thats why my car is idline wrong...now to the boost problem....today i went back and tightened the bolts to the bov. i knwo the crescents are lined up properly, but i am confused about lining up the flange. when i took it off the flange was facing down and to the right (torward battery) so thats the way i put it back it on. but my crescents are facing the opposite way(torward the third bolt). my bov is not constantly releasing pressure like it was b4 tightening , but now im only getting 10 psi(peak, but holding). could this be due to that blue wire/hose being screwed up. i tried super glueing it back to gether until i can get the part and it worked for a minute but even with it like that still only had to psi.
i need to make sure that i understand what were talking about when we say flange. are we talking about the flange that the pink wire connects with or are we talking about the flange that is built in the turbo (faces torward the 3rd bolt)? if its the one built in the turbo then i have it on right

wow 10 psi.....thats sad.I was running the same.I put onan hks bow and Iguess I hit something while driving and it fell off, then I putted everything back together stock and the car would hold 5 psi only,I ran like that for about 2 months, one day I got pissed off and put a boost controller and disconected all those vac. lines...now im only running with the green one and the selenoid pack is just sitting there empty...and im spiking 19 psi and holding 16 and 17 till 5000 rps, when I hit 5800 it falls back to 15 psi, and I'm still running on the stock wastegate.dunno why you got that mopar bov....they tend to leak like crazy but not all the time..good luck
do you understand which wire im talking about when i say the blue wire to the # senscor on the stock air box? i got the mopar cause money is deff. an issue and i wanted something quick and cheap. i might regret it in the future but happy 4 now if i could figure out my boost problem. when i do get tired of it then ill run the hard pipes with a real bov(probably hks ssq...sounds the best to me).
did you notice it boosting low before you started messing with it? cuz i know the stock boost gauges are FAMOUS for being crap and dying at an early age.
