Default Wierd Noise While Driving?

i can hear this rattlin noise when im taking off from 1st gear. i brought it to 2 diff. dealerships. One told me the noise is gear clash and its nothing to worry about and the noise is normal. well this noise is awfully loud..i also can really hear it when im driving anywhere from 1st-3rd gear when i let off the gas and cruise the noise is the most noticable then. i figured it was synchros? but then i found out that i can make the noise appear the loudest if im driving at 1500 rpm in 4th gear and push the gas pedal all the way to the floor. so then i thought it could be something loose under the hood? didnt find anything. also when i drive and push in the clutch you can hear the car winding down as it starts slowing down you can hear the winding noise. if you sit at idle and push in the clutch pedal and release it, you can hear a noise its decently noticable, so then i thought maybe the pilot or throw out bearings are no good? its a 2005 with 9000 miles. no dealers are giving me any good advice.

i dont think its normal..never heard anyone else describe anything like it, but if i had to say my 1st guess would be throwout bearings as you said. does it sound like metal on metal or something bangin together? u have plenty of warranty left so i wouldnt sweat too much but i know noone wants unknown noises from their brand new car especially their baby (srt) so i would take to the dealer, leave it and demand something done as long as you have an alternate means of transportation

ok well when i brought it to the dodge dealerships, they had their "transmission specialist" drive the car with me in the pass seat. one just said everything is normal. one blamed it on gear clash. so im getting frustrated with these places because i know there is something wrong. and in my opinion they are not checking it because they dont want to warrenty parts and deal with it. but its not fair to me. all they do is check the fluid and level and send it onn its way. both places. but there is a problem somethign is loose, its embarassing driving by people who are all looking and staring at this nice ride, but yet i get close enough and they grin and laugh and look confused cus i have this metal to metal noise coming from my car. i guess ill just bring it back again and complain some more ? :P

if you are at 'unusual' rpms in a certain gear/speed youll hear the synchros grinding away. like if you start out in 3rd and give it lots of gas, the tranny sounds awful, or are going 45 and give it full throttle in 5th.

dodge dealers are a pain in the butt to deal with. ive found that, youre right, they dont want to honor any type of warranty. meaning you pretty much have to make them work on your car. but i can see how that would be embarrassing. im kinda dealing with something simular, but unfortunately my car is out of warranty. i would take advantage of the warranty and insist on them looking closer at it if you feel that there is truly a problem. i still say it sounds like a throwout bearing but anyone on this forum can tell you that im not the most knowledgable about these cars so i would for sure get a second opinion or 3 or 4.

k i think its the same problem i had, and it was at around nine thousand miles to. but the difference with mine was the noise went away when i pressed the clutch. i ended up having to change my first and second gears. my suggestion is to drain your tranny fluid and if metal shavings come out then most likely thats what it is

You've mentioned twice that you've taken the car to "dodge dealerships", what about the dealership that soldyou the car? In most cases, if you bought a car from a particular dealer, they will try to keep you happy under the warranty in order to get your repeat business. Otherwise, soon, they won't have a business/dealership..........Hope the link above helps...

well i didnt bring it back to the dealership i bought it from because i bought it from, a lexus dealership (where i worked) at the time, there was no noise when i bought it but it was babied up until the time i heard the noises, then i brought it to dodge dealers. i dont really see the sense of bringing it back to the lexus dealership, i know everyone there and my cars a dodge they wont even give it a good look over...

"i can make the noise appear the loudest if im driving at 1500 rpm in 4th gear and push the gas pedal all the way to the floor. "

The noise you are hearing there is boost lag.....you're not supposed to be flooring it in 4th gear at 1500 rpms.
