RE: OCC
I dunno, that's a pretty small pix. One thing I CAN tell you is that if that hose is anywhere near as flimsy as is looks in the pix with the kinks and bends and all, you're gonna have problems. Ya might wanna seriously consider 5 feet or so of Goodyear 3/8" fuel/emission hose, SAE 30R7 for a couple of $ at any auto store. The hose in your pix looks like it would fold in on itself from the heat in a matter of minutes. I used reinforced clear tubing in mine with no problems, but the inside of the hose turns brown from the oil, so the "sexy" look doesn't last.......
Nice looking can, BTW!!

RE: OCC
Yup, it's actually a Campbell Hausfeld air compressor filter with the filter element removed. Works great. Lots of folks here have it on their cars. You'll need to empty it more often, but that's the only drawback........and I DID put hose clamps on the hoses after I took the picture!!!!
As for that "mystery part" I'd hang on to it, just in case. I ordered an $80 OCC a few years ago and got a "universal can" that had major issues with fitting in the engine compartment......that one didn't have any parts that looked like the one in your photo......
