last night, I was tucked in bed watching scarface when a friend of mine calls me.He asked me to go meet him at Taco Bell...there were supposed to be a whole bunch of people there, and 3 of our other friends.Well I thought about it and I was pretty bored so I went.I got there and there were my friends waiting for me, they all own red srt4s too.So 4 srt4s sitting in the parking lot and nobody wanted to race.Some kid stepped up but he saw some stickers on the side of one of the srt4s and backed down..lmao..since when do stickers give you power!!!?Well half an hour later a few more cars arrived.Including an STi...G35....and an EVO.They came in asking for the fastest car, and some guy pointed at us.So they come over and asked us to race.Well we weren't that interested anymore, it was freezing ***** out, shoot it still is.We say no, and of course soon after that comes the smack talk, talking about our "riced out neons".Then I thought to myself..."..didn't I just got my wastegate installed.."But i'm at 14 psi, I still got my stock bov and i'm leaking from it.But I didn't care so I told the G35"..let's go son!!!!"Then one of my friends asked the STi and then my other friend asked the evo to race 2.Funny think is they all asked to roll from 2nd,supp. it was better for them because of the wether!!!WTF...are these guys high!!!?So my friend and the evo go first and of course the evo gets murdered.Then the sti and the other srt4 go too and my friend misses a gear and sti of course wins.I don't even know why I raced the g35, total waste of gas...but i gave him big thumbs up and went back.On my way back I found the STi guy laughing and he honks at me and tells me bursting in laugh how he beated my friend.So of course me being the good friend that I am asked him to roll from second, and he did!!!!well to make this a little bit shorter heshut down the racein 3rd,I was 2 cars ahead of him..and we were both boosting 14psi.It was a great night for srt4 here in florida.This prooves my point once again....evos and STis ar only good at launch, but their 3rd and 4th gear suck!!!that's where we come in a kick their but.Well after that we all went back to the parking lot and then went home, I had to wake up at 5am to go to work and it was 12:30

Evo's suck hey, I own and srr4 and an evo, and you must have ran into some really bad drivers. My car runs strong in 3,4,5 and 6. Take the car to the track and see how well you do. When you have to deviate from a straight line, think of all the crashed srt while cornering, you will realize what the evos 4 wheel drive system is for. Running stock my evo was able to best a lot of great cars, srt4, s2000, porsche(he sucked as a driver thought and shouldn't include this car), sti, bmw m's, s4(v8), corvette and lots of others. The only cars that really gave the car a problem were other evos and a bad *** viper and air cooled 911 twin turbo(this car was awsome). Congrats on the kills, but I like my evo and will defend it. I like the evo better than the srt4, but thats just my opinion. I know people will not like the fact that I am defending an evo on a dodge forum, but oh well.

 

i can give evo's respect but i have never drove one. theyre pretty cars and no doubt have to be quick but you give us 300 hp and awd or not i promise the srt will come out on top....just an opinion

 

lmao it's cool man, i respect your opinion.And I know eveos are made for track..that's why they come with the AWD.But from a roll, they don't stand a chance and it's been proven.Now from a dig, well of course evo will come out on top, srt4 get no traction and wheel hop 1st and 2nd gear.But i never said they sucked, just that they got great launch.....thats about it.....if they're that bad why do we kill'em from a roll???with a stock turbo!?From a dig they're winners in my book, from a roll they get spanked.

 

wish i could say that i had one notched on the ol' shifter, but never ran one. right now i know it wouldnt be much of a race! once i get my car runnin right i think that will be my first find. i do know a guy that has a sti but i dont know of too many srt's that will hang with it. he's pushin around 385 4whp. thats insane power! i know a guy that dynoed his srt at 508 whp and the sti got him at the track of course, but also on the interstate. so i think i need a stock evo or sti to experiment with...oh yeah red...camera is chargin so ill call you in a bit after theyre uploaded.

 

At the track everything is from a roll. I didn't see the srt4 passing me, it was the opposite. This summer ams of chicago is sponsering track days at the joliet autobahn club. Come and prove me wrong, take me from a roll, pass me on the track, where the people who drive are competent and know how to drive a car. You keep talking about this from a roll, that from a roll, but unless you have a well balanced car, you will not be the fastest. I don't think the evo is at that much of a disadvantage from a roll, and people keep saying that this is not there game......well with a 25% bigger motor combined with a lighter car, you would think the srt4 should be all over the evo....blah, blah, blah...you can always find an example of car a beating car b and I am sure there are plenty of evos that have killed srt's. Don't get me wrong, though, I LIKE the srt4, so much so that I bought one. The srt is fast, especially in a straight line, but the evo is fast all the time. I think if I drove my evo everyday, I would lose my license. Not sure if I would say that about the srt.

 

i have no doubt about the capabilities of your evo. is it stock? i hve driven some decently fast vehicles, but nothing just crazy fast. i have to say that my srt is by far one of the fastest cars i ahve driven. now thats not to say the evo isnt faster cause im sure it is. but what did you pay for your evo? give me 30K$ and ill buy a srt and mod it and i would have no problems runnin for slips. regaurdless theyre both great cars, im sure theyre both fun to drive, and i know theyre both extremely fast for a 4 cylinder or for any size motor that is. i must say though i am a little jelous of you for having both cars....must be nice!

 

The evo is stock, it is a white mr, got it for 33,500. A friend of mine owns the dealership. I don't drive the srt or the evo very often,(8000 miles on 04 srt and 2500 on 06 evo). I look at them as thouroughbred(sic) and just can't bore them with the everyday commute. Plus I live on a dirt road, and would be washing them all the time. The only reason I bought the evo is because they are completely changing it for 08 with no 07 avalible. So in order to have one that I liked and knew the history of, I bought it. Every so often I think to myself that I don't need both, but what one do you sell. For your info, if they were availible, I could have gotten an rs for 27,000, which isn't that far off of the 21,000 for the srt. I tried the drag racing thing, and it really ain't for me. I like to do track days. A friend of mine had an 05 acr srt and he did VERY good on the track. I think if he had sway bars and strut tower braces, he could have been close, but the evo is just easier to drive and push safer. The srt needs suspention work, and I am curious how much horsepower can actuallly be used at the track. Maybe I will find out this summer and modify the srt.

 

i'm sorry when i said track i mean drag strip, when you tun from a dig.Maybe you missunderstood me.But why argue about something that's been argued many times before.Bottom line is, from a dig evo is faster, from a roll srt4 is faster and if you lived around here i would show you.but like you said you tried the "drag thing" and didn't like it, and I love it so we are two worlds apart.I respect your opinion and the way you defend your evo, we all do the same with our cars.SRT-4 weren't meant for track, they were made to run in a straight line...and any evo or sti that tries to roll with me I'll crush him, and then give him big thumbs up, because I always come out happy wheter i win or loose....after all it's just a race.When I get motormounts,some stabillity bars and good tires we'll see who goes down from a dig
