convertion to a super and turbocharged
are you talking about having both systems at the same time? neat concept but not quite sure i would want that. i would put the 6k$ that the s/c would cost into a stage 3 and some support mods....450 - 500 hp....faster than a t/c & s/c car anyday.....has anyone ever done that anyway? i did see a tyburon that had an engine in front that was turbo'd & one in the back with the same set up...he also had 2 diferent trans. so he could put one in drive & one in reverse and do one hell of a burn out. it would run pretty good too
it's called a twin-charge system. lots of people do it. a friend of mine got bored one friday night and twin charged his mini cooper s. it's actually very effective. you use the s/c to spool a larger turbo than would normally be able to be used on the car. it does work, although it's rather complicated to set up properly.
as far as i know, there's no one that makes twin charge kits for srt's. there's no reason to. the only time you see twin charge applications for the most part is on cars that come with factory s/c set ups.

not sure that ive ever heard of that. it does sound pretty neat though. i wished i had the money/knowledge/time to be bored on a weekend and just twin charge my car for the fun of it....man i would be buggin the hell out of all of yall with ?'s if i tried to do that
damn, my friend just found a site that sells the twin charge kit for his cobalt ss s/c and i wanted to do it to my car. having constant boost at low levels from the s/c then let the turbo take over in the higher rpms, constant boost, constant power, it would be intense..
Darrel *** is gonna be releasing a twin turbo kit for the SRT4.Its in the works right now and is actually installed on a non srt neon.I think that would be the only twin charge anything i would run just for the fact of tuning.
superchargers give you way better acceleration (that's way the cobalts jump when we race them) but that's about it. to me i don't know why you would want constant boost. it's gonnna be hard on the engine after awhile andthe supercharger will crap outbefore too long. superchargers are bad *** but are they worth the constant repair and replace. turbos aren't care free either but they don't provide constant boost at the same time. just my two sense.

Not that I have any useful info but thought I would ramble on about somethings I feel are wrong with peoples ideas here.
1) twin charging idea is cool but too complex and not really needed in our case IMO. What, you cant spin the tires through 1st and 2nd? What more do ya want? Geez. Granted too big a turbo lags but...........whatever, more of a case for 2 small ones I guess. Freakin power junkies! LOL
2)A lot of newer (greener) deisels are doing the sequential turbo thing just FYI not that that matters here, but it works too.
3)A centrifugal supercharger will outlast any turbo, any roots type blower and even your motor with nary more than maybe an oil change once in a whilein its self contained reservoir. Check out Paxton and Vortec. If I was gonna blow, that's what I'd do. Why roots type blowers have been so popular is a mystery to me. With a centrifugal, you only have to keep an eye on the belt. If you want to blow big and hard, the belt has to be correspondingly large and beefy but low pressure 6-9 psi units have traditionally just used a single v-belt or 2. Super simple, super reliable.
