Mopar Stage 2
I was looking into a Mopar Stage 2, and i talked to sum guys that had stage 2 and they said that they were not any good because they larger jets pushed to much fuel into the turbo? they said if u did no that route that a larger turbo is needed for the power gain? just wondering what everybody thinks?
Well, we've got several people here like roach****a that have it and love it. Go to www.mopar.com and see the specs there and they also have a question and answer section as well....
i dont know who you were talking to but i dont see a larger turbo being needed at all for stage 2. now i could see an intake and exaust and new ignition sys (or at least 8.5 mm wires) see with that u have more air to mix with the fuel and a good spark to burn this new mixture and a nice bigger exaust to get rid of the waste u just made.... they might be talking about using stage 2 with 100 octane and turning up the boost real high and if u go past stock turbo specs output then you would but i dont think they turned the boost up that high for the hp tests.
Hmm, and these guys had Stage 2? There's a common misconception that the Stage 2 injectors are oversized, and that it runs rich.
It does run richer than most tuners like to tune to, but that is a tactic to keep cylinder head and combustion chamber temps down, leading to increased head and exhaust manifold gasket life, amongst other goodies.
It's pretty well documented that the advertised power is there, both on pump and racegas. If they have Stage 2 and think it's not making power, it's not installed right. If they don't have it, and think that, they are ignorant. As far as the "You can make more power with less money aftermarket" argument, that's a whole other thread.

That would be a question for dusty to answer since he has Stage 1. I have seen almost a 1 second decrease in 1/4 mile time from just the Stage 1 upgrade.

Stage 1s gains are not as big as Stage 2, but still geat for the money. As far as "regaining the power", you don't need to, with either Stage. Any exhaust upgrade is going to assist Stage 1, or 2, make power. The Mopar exhaust is required for Stage 2 to make rated power, but not for Stage 1.
The biggest difference I've noticed with the Stage 1 is the turbo kicking in at only part throttle. Before, I had to really gas it to hear it. Now, with just normal (normal for me, anyway) pressure on the gas pedal, you hear the air rushing in and a little more gas gets that turbo really whistling! Also, letting off the gas results in a really cool series of "pops and snaps" from the Mopar/Borla exhaust system.
Of couse it accelerates faster(!) but the power seems to come on smoother.....
