I have scheduled a dealership visit, as i just baught this car and im makin them responsible for it while i still can. But i am worried as to wether or not i should be driving it.

I got the following codes. (thanks for the OBDII engine code sticky guys)

P0420-CATALYTIC 1/1 EFFICIENCY
P0522-OIL PRESSURE SENSOR LOW

Can anyone help me understand what these codes mean, please? I would like to have a leg up on the service center guys in case they try to give me some sort of BS.

 

have you done anything to the car(mods)...?

 

I just bought it from the dealership saturday, 39000 miles, perfect cosmetic condition.
I have not done anything to it. I do however notice that the previous owner got rid of the airbox and installed an Injen Intake. I have been wracking my brain researching this vehicle. I wish i could find the previous owner and ask him/her some questions.

 

Welcome...and don't worry, there's been few problems here that I haven't seen solved. If we can't help you fix it, someone here knows someone else who can. Besides a lot of dealerships give you the run around. Does your vehicle still have warranty? I thought it stopped at 36,000 miles? And yes, there is a lot to learn about this car, especially if you, like me, have never had a turbocharged car. I guess it would be hard to say what was done to the car unless you knew what you were looking for. Does anything look like it didn't come stock besides the intake?

 

try hooking up with someone who has an srt4 were you live....or download some pics of a stock car and compare to yours...oooor take some good pics and post them here

 

Im not worried there are tons of laws that protect used car buyers like me in the state of florida. I was just hoping for some knowledge about the codes so thatWHEN service tries to give me a run around...oops i meanIF they try to give me the run around then i have a knowledge edge. I think the original warranty is dead but im good for 30 days and because i got such a good deal on the car i put the extended warranty on it.

I really beleive the only aftermarket part is the intake. Everything else checks out as stock, I happened to run across a guy with a stock black one at a gas station this morning on my way to work. He let me takea peak at his. His has 100k miles on it. Holy crap, gives me hope that this car does have the ability to hang in there for some mileage.

 

I live in Bonita Springs over on the west coast inbetween Naples and Fort Myers. Im worried that this dealership is going to jerk me around though. Man it was so hard getting my wife to okay the purchase.
