I'm want to put a turbo on my 01 but don't know if I should buy a Srt turbo abd upgrade it or buy a universal Hks turbo. Either way I'll be happy but what do I need to do for all that.

well, without upgrading internas you can safely run bout 8 or 9 psi on the sohc. but youll either need to dump some cash into upgrading your sohc or just swap out for the 2.4. either way you gotta pay if you wanna play

dont forget about the sohc adapter plate to bolt the srt4 turbo manifold to the sohc head, if you plan on doing it that way....

if i were you i would save enough to do the whole swap (2.4L). that way you can just bolt it up, plug it in and take off.....itll be ready to go! puttin a turbo on a N/A motor is a project & a half, and then after you get it on you have to deal with the tuning aspect. find a wrecked srt....3, maybe 4k$ and yank the motor.....a turbo on a SOHC will still only be around 200hp if that, so you still wont even be runnin with a srt...that is unless you have plenty of $ to dump in it for other upgrades, internals, and tuning...and if you got that kind of $ why not go ahead and get a somewhat new motor, 30-40k miles, and know that its right and itll last...just my opinion!

I heard that the auto tranny from the turbo pt crusier hooks up because i'm not great at stick. Is that true because I'm starting to think about just sticking the Srt4 engine in.

Does that really matter? I think you need to worry about getting the srt motor and pt tranny in the car and working first.
