Buddy of mine has an 04 SXT with the swap and an aftermarket body kit on it. There is no way to tell it was once an SXT without running the vin or noticing the difference in curb weight....And with his Stg2 and 3inch straight pipes SXT doesn't even cross the mind! His insurance is at a good price though!

 

thats to much work.. why dont just buy a srt 4??? also it probably cost a **** load to do a swap... cheaper to buy a srt4!!

 

well, like he said the vin runs as an SXT, sodepending on your insurance company, the insurance rates would be much cheaper. i know through progressive there is only like 20 or 30 bucks ever 6 months difference between the sxt and srt. but some people just enjoy doing the work. once i have recovered from my financial issues right now i want to buy a 1st gen and swap it. but that will have to wait for now. perhaps in a couple years.

I break it down like this: Some people collect stamps, some people build models, and some people swap a Turbo 2.4L into an SXT. It's a hobby that passes the time and hopefully one you can enjoy.Doing the swap is pretty much just doing what they did to get the SRT4 in the first place, so you could at least consider it a reinactment of thehistory of our cars.....

 

i guess im getting a little extreme modifying the appearance of the car. point is i like to change it up. at some point ill end up putting the srt bumpers back on. its just a matter of preferenceand like plan B said, its a hobby thing. why do some people put different tail lights on? why do some people remove the wing, or put a mid-wing on? why do some have a sound system loud enough to hear blocks away? why do some people put graphics on their cars? why do......??? see where im going with this? its a matter of personal preference.

you dont like the rear bumper i put on my car? good,then dont put one on your car. i realized that doing this would generate some negative feedback and some positive, but im indifferent to it. fact is I like the look of the 00-02 style better, and makes for more of a sleeper look (less attention). oh, and im kind of enjoying the debate (and getting some of yall thick headed ones a lil fired up)
