maxxfab????
I am looking at getting there modded mopar exhaust and the rest of the goodies to make it a full turbo back. i live in california and need a cat, but im pretty sure that stock srt4's have a cat on there downpipe and a cat that hooks up to the down pipe between the cat back exhaust. now i want to get rid of the cat on the downpipe and run a catless downpipe into a high flow cat then out the dual exhaust. well it doesnt say anything about a high flow cat, just wondering if anyone owns what i want and how they got it or if i just didnt read where maxxfab wrote that...
Okay, first things.
Scott (I don't know his last name) is MAXXFab, one man show. Great guy. If you pick up the latest SCC mag, his stuff is featured. Also, Roach****a on here has his stuff, not sure if he's mounted it. Anyway, Scott has three basic systems.
Full 3 inch turboback, with or without cat, single tip.
Full turboback modified Mopar exhuast. This is the Mopar 2.5 with the addition of the setup below.
3 inch Downpipe and O2 housing made specifically to mate up with the Mopar exhaust (for rolks like me that allready have the Mopar. This setup can be had so it slip fits the 2.25 front of the Mopar (where it fits the stock DP). Or sized so it will fit over a Mopar with that 2.25 section removed (best bet)
What he did was dynoed his modified Mopar agianst a full three inch turboback on a 300whp car. Same numbers.
Now as far as the cat, we only have one. In the downpipe. One thiing to like about Scotts system is that he sells his DP as a three piece unit. high quality clamps allow you to easily loosen two clamps and swap the high flow cat in or out to swap in the "test" pipe.
Absolutely trustworthy. Great to do business with, from all reports.

i saw another srt with a single exhaust tip and it sounded like busted ***... really bad like a glass pack. that wasnt the magaflow system was it? if so thats for sure out.
Hey, Gump
I have the "whole" Maxxfab exhaust installed in the SRT. I got the stainless instead of the aluminum. I have no complaints in performance; now, i did notice that i lost a little low-end TQ during launch. but i felt it during mid to high end.
Now, just as an advice if you going for the O2 housing, its a pain in the *** to mount. the space is very narrow.
hope i helped

i have the maxxfab o2 housing and interchangeable dp with the transition to the borla exhaust (already had it when i got his pipes). the difference is night and day with the new pipes. as soon as we put them on, the car completly woke up and is a beast now. it's amazing what a little breathing room will do for a turbo
we installed it ourselves in my friends shop. and i can too say that the o2 housing is a royal pain in the ***. this was the first o2 housing that we had done on an srt, so we had no clue what we were doing. the instructions that scott gives are good, but with the guys being the guys, they didn't look at them much. we actually ended up having to bend the lower heat shield to get the bolts back in, there just wasn't enough room under there.
the only issue i've had so far is that the clamp that he provides for the transition piece from the dp to the exhaust is leaking. i'm going to get it welded as soon as my welding guy gets back from d.r. other than that, i have no complaints and nothing but praise for scott and the pieces that he makes. even the guys helping us install the parts said how nice the pipes were, and these are highly picky mustang guys.
scott also has awesome customer service. i pre-ordered my dp, as the interchangeable one was still in testing, but i wanted it. as soon as it was released, he had it to me in about three days. i was one of the first to get it, because scott knew that i needed it as i had broke my stock dp at the transition piece at the track a couple of weeks before, and it wasn't exactly safe for me to be driving around like that. he's a great guy, and his products are awesome.
