Default Stage 1 Upgrade

I was thinking of getting the Stage 1 upgrade for my 2005 Srt-4 but since you only get the upgraded ecu (since S1 injectors are stock) is it really worth it? Also if it is, how do I go about installing it? Dont I have to get it reflashed at the dealership or something? HELP.

It is worth it. Stage one opens alot of gates to future upgrades. You dont have it get it reflashed if you buy it new, You just supply them your Vin and then you take out your old PCM and put the new one in. IF you buy it used then you will have to get the PCM flashed. Note if you buy it used since you have an 05 you can only use a 05 stage 1 bc i believe some battery senosr fault will show up if you use a 03/04. The PCM is located right by your drivers side headlight

if i were you just save up alittle more money and get the stage 2 with or without toys.. its only 900 bucks and this way you get the wastegate, ecu, bigger injectors and the sensors.. alot more than the st.1

Well one of you says ECU and the other says PCM. Which one does the Stage 1/2 upgrade replace? Also what is the difference between the two?

ECU & PCM are the same thing, just different naming conventions. It is the computer that manages your engine. Stg1 and Stg2 both replace the stock computer, but both are programmed differently. The Stg2 accounts for the different fule injectors and 3bar map sensor I believe...

Yeah if you going for the lower option (and cheaper)then get Stage 1. If you got the cash for Stage 2 go for it. I might get stage 1 just t hold me off till I get my stage 3. Hmmm... that's really not a bad idea, I might get on that today.

Ok lets say I go with the Stage 2 upgrade. Are the turbo toys really worth the extra $500-$600 dollars? Or should I just get the Stage 2 w/o the toys? I dont ever plan on using anything but pump gas, so the High Octane Mode is useless to me, but would I benefit that much from the IC sprayers and Dial-A-Boost function?

And on top of the IC sprayer issues you could just get a boost controller and save some dough. The only true benefit to the toys package that I see is the HOM mode....
