Default Another new neon guy to help

I just picked up a 1996 neon with 140kms. Automatic
Now everyone is telling how bad these cars are on head gaskets, are they really that bad?
Will increasing the percentage of antifreeze help these cars? Should I run and hide or is there help for this new to me neon

Thanks

Welcome to the new and improved DF.

I had a Neon once. When I test drove it, I had no problems. We parked it to go talk to the bank, and when we got back, the head gasket blew. So they replaced it before I bought it, I pounded the hell out of that car with no problems.
