New Member with a Question
Hi all,
New to the forums. I live in Chesapeake, VA and currently own a 2004 Ram 1500 (4x2 5.7L).
I happened upon the forum from Google. I'm in a slight bind right now. I currently have a deal working to get a 2005 Ram 2500 4x4 with the HEMI, but since mine is a 2004, I have quite a bit of upside down on it. My payments would be around $600 (I've been playing the negative game for years it seems).
I love the style of it, but I read that they're updating the body style for the 2006 models. Is this true? Even though the current body style is the best one IMO, I'd hate to buy a new truck for that much cash to only have it outdated 6 or so months down the road.
I had a 99 Ram and it wasn't long after when the new body style came out. I felt like I was driving a "retired" vehicle.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Welcome aboard. If you want to check out the '06 styling, look here: https://dodgeforum.com/m_151478/tm.htm
Think overgrown Dakota for the '06 Ram, and make your own judgement based on that!

Welcome to DF! There's lots more info beyond the Ram also in the Brand Rumors/Concepts forum =)

Thanks all.
I called Dodge today on 2 different occassions and asked them about the new line. I also called a local dealer here and they said that ALL Rams would assume the new styling, not just the Megacab version.
With that info under my belt, I decided to hold off on buying the 2500 until next year around this time when the new body will be out and the new styling frenzy will have (hopefully) died down some.
I like the new styling from what I've seen so far and can attest to the need of more room in the back seat. My folks have a 2003 Ram 3500 QC 4x2 Cummins 5.9. When we've taken short road trips (myself, wife, mom, and dad), whoever sat in the back complained that the leg room was horrible... so the additional backseat room is more than welcome.
The truck that I was going to buy this week didn't quite have everything I wanted (Infinity speakers and auto-dimming rearview mirror) and for what I was going to pay, didn't think I should settle.

Update: the first dealer was trying to screw me. I went to another dealer and they worked out a better deal on the exact truck I wanted.
Now it's a 2005 Ram 2500 4x4 Silver with the 5.7.
