New from STL
Hello all!
I purchased a one owner 2004 Ram 1500 Quad Cab SLT Hemi with 179k about a month ago with a broken valve spring. The guy I bought it from said a shop checked it out and said it dropped the valve. I assumed the cylinder and piston were damaged so I purchased a 50k mile used engine for it and had the 45RFE trans gone through while it was out on the ground. After having this thing on the road for about two weeks now I have been enjoying the hell out of it. I learned a lot doing the engine and trans R&R and figured this would be a good place to sign up for help with other parts of the truck. If anyone has any tech questions I may be able to help since I had this truck scattered all over the garage as soon as I got it.
Ok thats it haha...
I plan on getting some pics up soon!
Thanks,
Nick

Thanks everyone!
Looks like my differential is going out (clutches in diff are damaged) so Im either rebuilding this one or getting a complete rear out of another truck with lower mileage. I guy I bought it from said three months before the valve spring broke he had the rear differential fluid changed...I am thinking the shop did not know to add the Mopar additive for the clutches.
FML.
