Exclamation Wiring help!

I'm having the hardest trouble finding the wiring for an overhead console/compass. I pulled down the panel on the drivers side to see what wiring I do have, and it's just 2 wires instead of how ever many I need. My single cab didn't come with one, but I'm going to make it happen what ever it takes. Any help would be appreciated. Send a reply to zombone@alltel.blackberry.com and I'll respond...Also, I'm going to have to do some customizing to the headliner possibly. It doesn't look thick enough for the mounting frame and the console. We'll have to see. Ty!!

Exclamation Needed, yet unprovided info.

I'm working on a 2005 dodge ram 1500 S1T single cab, v6. I'm attempting to convert it completely to SLT. I know the engine is going to be the hardest part, so I'm slowly doing it. It's a very slow process. I had power locks and windows installed before I embarked on this journey myself. Problem with that, they told me that the wiring was already there. So they just ripped out the OEM and replaced it with their crappy motor and wiring.

Why not find a wrecked SLT and remove all of the wiring and motors.Along with the controllers too.

I'm new too and haven't found the answer searching on this forum yet, although, I've found similar questions for different vehicles. I have a 2004 Ram 1500 4.7l ST. I'm purchasing an overhead console as well and would like to know how I should wire it. I've heard that there's a harness behind the a pillar on some vehicles, but I haven't checked on mine yet. I understand theres typically 3 wires for the lights and 4 for the console/computer. The lights are easy. Just wondering what about the other "4" wires. I haven't actually received the console yet, but I just want to be prepared. Sorry for piggybackin' this question.

Just received my overhead console. Part number is 56045573AD.
I'm not worried about wiring the lights, I just need to know what the 4 computer wires are, and where I should run them. The most important one being the bus/computer one. The wires are Black with an orange stripe...I'm assuming this is ground. Then there is red with a yellow stripe...I'm assuming this in the power. Then I have a purple with red, and a solid purple. As far as I could see I did not have a harness in my drivers side pillar. But I didn't look all that hard. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get it installed before my road trip. Thanks bunches.
