RE: If Your A Newbie, Post And Int
New to this forum, but not to Mopar. My first was a 64 valiant, while stationed in Cuba back in the early 70's. Next was a 74 Dart, ordered new, drove it til it got wrecked. Then a series of F bodies, Volares, Aspens, etc. until we got the kids out of the door, then an 86 Ramcharger, a 90 Aclaim with v6, 90 Dakota, then a 95 Dakota, and a 96 Stratus, then went to a chevvie finally for the wife. Blame the stratus on that, it leaked everything but gas! I prefer the older Mopars, except the trucks. Want a CTD as soon as finances allow, have to get the retirement house in Logan, Utah built first. Current project car is a 79 Volare wagon (aka chick magnet) with 318-4, this car's suspension and brakes have been seriously upgraded, also added bucket seats, center console and floor shifter, a built up 999 tranny from an 87 D100, lots of Diplomat cop car parts, etc. Waiting in the wings is a 330HP 360, 78 block, with Magnum heads, that will go in as soon as I can scare up some assistance. Next project is the 83 Mirada that sits in the back yard, it has 66K miles on it, got it in Sun City, AZ, a retirement community.
A project I want to do is an 87 Dakota. Looking for a short bed version, with little or no rust, so I can tear it down and do a frame up restoration.
I spend a lot of time in my favorite self-pull junkyard, collecting parts for current and future projects. This yard mostly gets in old, worn out donated to charity cars and trucks, but those have a lot of fresh parts sometimes. I have pulled recent rebuilt heads and trannies out of them. Seems the owners fix one thing and another fails, so they quit. Parted out one van that had almost everything replaced, but failed emissions due to poor choice of carburetor.
I hope to own a Mopar specialty junkyard once I get fully retired.

Hi, I'm Brian, an airman from Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH. I picked up my first personally owned vehicle Feb 11th. I'm the proud father of a 5026 lb boy. Trying to decide on a name for it. Either Drake or Malice. Let me know what you think. I got a used Black 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad 2WD at a lot in Indiana. Stole it is more appropriate than saying bought. Picked it up for 21K (who wants 2wd in the north?). Since I'm headin to Texas, I didn't care much. I had previously been lookin at a Chevy Colorado thinkin I could never afford a Dodge Ram. Apparently I did something good in life. I plan on installing a CAI, Dual Flowmasters, a performance chip, headers possibly, and maybe a Viper hood. This truck has to tide me over for a while, until I pick up a new toy. I came to this forum to hopefully find out what works and what don't and get some ideas. Hope to see your posts!

I do like my Neon SXT - only have had for 7 months now - just learning about my new car. Had 85' Ford Ranger 4X4 - was good truck to me - got over 90,000 miles on rebulit engine. Got tired of trucks after 18 years of owning them - wanted more comfort in driving - got Neon .... Now every other person wants my car - steal etc .... Let me be in peace - please ... Jon in Las Vegas
