Hi folks. Been checking this forum for a while and decided to make it "legal".
Have an '88 Ram truck with 198K on it. Love it! I am a backyard mechanic at best, but have learned quite a bit from forums such as this. For the last few months the truck has been shutting down while driving (one minute fine, the next, nothing). Most of the time it would restart and act normally. Once I had to have it towed to my mechanic and (of course) it started right up for him. Last week it died in the driveway. After research, I did the "key dance" and got a speed sensor code. Put a new on on and it's running fine for now.Possible symptom to look out for: the speedometer was becoming less accurate over time (low). I didn't make the connection until yesterday. Another key point I learned is that you have to reset the computer to clear the code before you can fire it up. Hope this helps someone.
