Default Rear Light Issue

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad 4x4, with the engine running my rear tail lights are on even though the switch is off, brake lights work, turn signals work, all lights work. If the engine is off and key in the "on" position, the lights are off. I had the truck for 2 years with ZERO problems, however, my wife drove the truck and this was the 1st time I noticed the lights on, and only in the rear. Is this normal, I've never seen it on another truck.

Welcome to DF
Have you had any work done to the truck? And do you have day time running lights. Other than that, I haven't seen that problem either.

Default Rear Light Issue

I traced all the wires, and discovered that the towing wire connection was a little dirty, I unplugge all the connections, cleaned them and sprayed an electrical component protector, and that was all it needed to fix the problem, it would appear that it was using the tail lights to complete a grounding issue caust by the little corrosion.
