Hi everyone,

I just purchased a 2004 Dakota in January. quad cab, 100k miles. 4x4 4.7liter Needed a good used truck to do work around the house, dump, plow etc. Ran great no issues.

Just last week heard a tick tick sound when I started her up. Sounds like an exhaust leak, i think from the passenger side I'm guessing manifold possibly?. I do back up the truck to an embankment and have hit the tail pipe against it a couple times, not hard but thinking maybe I jammed the exhaust system..

If anyone could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

BTW great forum and look forward to learning more about my truck here!

Welcome to DF
With engine colded. Check the heat shields on both sides. Which shield is loose. That would be the side is leaking.
