I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, and just spent $4800 on a new engine (blew head gasket, bent rod); she's got 133K miles. A month before this happened, "check engine" light came on and stayed on. The tac would randomly "zzzzzzzzzzz" from 15000 to 20000 and back down, every couple minutes. I could hear a "zzzzzz" sound and see the increase, but it would not do it when my mechanic drove it! Now, $4800 later and a new motor I just got back 4 days ago, it's doing it again...what in the world??? I love this truck, so any similar experience would be helpful! (I bought the truck new). thanks!

 

Take it back,tell him to fix this problem.still under warranty,no money out of pocket.
