Newb - '02 Dakota

Default Newb - '02 Dakota

Hello all. Just picked up an '02 Dakota QC, with 145k on the 5.9L. As we are closing on our house in a couple weeks, I wanted to pick something up to use in the renovation work we will be doing (kitchens, baths, floors, moving walls...), and didn't want to use mamma's SUV.

Truck is in pretty good condition for a 12 yo with the miles on the clock, and interior actually looks like a 45k mile truck! Looking forward to learning more about DIY repairs from the site.

Welcome to DF! Congrats on the new ride, and the new digs. I bought a full size truck for the same reasons. (needed something bigger in any event, than the S-10 Blazer)

Check out the 2nd gen Dakota section. LOTS of good info, and people there.

Thanks all! It has been a while since I had a truck (not counting SUVs), and I am enjoying it. I haven't driven it too much at this point, but in a few weeks will drive it out to PA, and will be able to use that instead of a rental. Have to say, the design has aged quite well.

And yes, starting to check out the 2nd Gen forum also.
