Default New Member and need some help

Hi I am a new member here and I am in need of help. I have a Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L that had leaking seals and wouldn't shift without help. So the leaks have been fixed and she drives much better but it still is not making that first shift after it warms up. Everything else is great. The mechanic says it needs to get the air out and it may take a bit. It has been a week since he did the work. Any ideas?

What year is your truck? (assuming second gen, since you have a 318)

May be time to replace governor pressure sensor and solenoid.

Possibly take it back into the garage.. Make the mechanic sit in the truck with you and show it to him.. He might have sudden realization of an idea?

I need to know if what the mechanic is telling me is correct. About it may take time for it to get the air out and shift normal again. And how long should I wait?

The mechanic is making excuses. Once the trans has shifted thru all the gears, all the air is purged. (yep, happens the first time you drive the truck.)

Oh okay,I was wondering why it was still having issues. We had replaced the shift solenoid and the torgue converter solenoid.

It won't shift from 1st to second after it warms up. I can put it in neutral then in drive and it will shift. And it shifts the rest of the time until I stop and go thru it again. And if it's cold it shifts fine. It has power again where it didn't before he replaced the seals. So I am not sure what to do and this guy wants his money but it's not fixed yet.
