Hi, my name is John MacAngus and live in Ottawa/Ont/Canada. I bought a 2001 Dodge 3500 Diesel truck a year ago and have had problems with the fuel system. I have replaced the rear pump in tank and cleaned the lines/fuel tank but still won't start. My buddy thinks it's the Injector Pump that's the problem. I have shopped around locally and on line and the pumps are all in the $2-3k u.s range. Does anyone know if there is a good place to buy one of these in the say..$1500 u.s range? It would be great if someone knows and could answer!! Many thanks! J

 

That's a fair bit of money to spend on something your buddy 'thinks' is the problem...... You might be better off taking it to a shop that specializes in diesel engines, and see if that is indeed the problem before throwing a bunch of money at it, and then finding out it was NOT the problem....

That said, you are likely not going to find one that cheap new, take a look on the 'used' market. Ebay, car-part.com, etc.
