Hey everyone, this is my first forum. Looks like you can get a whole lot of info on just about anything and thats what I'm hoping for.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the welcomes. My name's Greg and I just bought a 1988 dakota 3.9L LE, love it. She has 160 thou but has been taken care of. Here's my problem, loaned it to my girlfriend so she could help someone move. When I got it back my stereo does not work and my dome light bulb was burnt out. I did a little looking around and noticed my fuse box I had an open round delay where the case had been knocked off. So I started doing some research and I had found that this thing was called a time delay relay at least that was according to all the schematics I found except for one that one called it an ignition lamp time delay relay. Needless to say dodge has discontinued that part and no auto parts stores that's around me has it, I've even searched a couple of salvage yards and haven't come up with it yet. So here's my question first off what does this thing do and then of course where can I find one.

I think it keeps the interior lights on for a bit, after opening the door, and getting in. (or, opening the door, and getting out. )

I see them for newer trucks, wonder if they used the same relay for any appreciable length of time? Maybe get one for a newer truck, and see if it works?
