Hello fellow Dodge people. I purchased a 1997 Dodge Truck in 1997. It is a Ram 3500 4x4 Dually with the club cab and 8 ft. bed. It has the Camper package (extra set of rear springs) and I had a Tommy Gate Hydraulic Lift gate installed some years back. It has the 12V Cummins 5.9 Cummins Diesel engine with the P-Pump. I told my wife a couple of years ago that the Dodge needed new batteries and that was all it took. Now, it has over 1,000 WHP. I have compound Turbos, Steed Speed Exhaust Manifold, 7mm Delivery Valves, 250 Injectors, 4,000ish rpm Governor Spring set, modified the AFC, put the AFC Live controller on it (nice unit), 5" down pipe, PDD Stage-1 Head, The big ARP Head Studs and Fire ring grooves in the head and the block. My timing is set to 18 degrees and I have a "Fluid Damper" Balancer. I did find it immediately evident that I needed a better clutch so I put a Twin Disc Southbend Clutch in it. Much better and it doesn't smell line brake linings any more. I have a system on it that I am seeking a US patent on and I also have put on a Pre-Oiler System that I built. Since it is Florida I don't need the manifold heaters so I used one of the heater relay control circuits to operate the Pre-Oiler Pump. When You turn the key and it say "Wait to Start", the Pre-Oiler pump starts running and pressurizes the engine and turbos through the oil filter. When it is really cold or the truck has been sitting for a while I run it through the 10 second cycle twice just for good measures. Once the light goes out I start the engine. Once the engine is warmed up, you do not have to wait on the Pre-oiler pump to run. By the way if you didn't already know, the PCM is a NPN or Sinking logic device. In regular people like me terms that means that the wires are always 12V. When you want something to turn on, take it to negative. It is kind of thinking backwards. Oh, yes I did take care of the KDP (Killer Dowel Pin). If you read this and you don't know what it is look for a thread that talks about it and save yourself a lot of headaches, time and $$$. Feel Free to ask me any questions that have to do with what I have done so far. If I know the answer I will be glad to help if not I will tell you I don't know and not guess just to have to tell you Early Picture. No Turbo Blankets, Fan, Rad, Batteries... I don't like the air intake in the engine compartment. Too Hot! Billet timing cover. Well worth the investment. BTW the color of my truck was black. Now it is Seagul poop because I put Osfo to stop the surface rust. Ha Ha! I didn't like the way the wiring was routed up front so I changed it to suit.
sorry about that later.
