Default 1996 DODGE RAM 1500 LT 8 cyl 5.2 318 v8

Hi all I just bought a low mileage 2 gen 1500. it has 111K original mileage the car fax showed (semi) routine work accomplished. I need to hit all the fluids to put my mind at ease.. My question is automatic transmission filter and oil change. I got a rubber gasket with the NAPA kit and was wondering do I need any sealant on it? Also thoughts on rare earth magnets inside the pan and thoughts on a magnet around oil filter.
thanks

Oh I paid 6k for it..Gulp what can I say...when you want it

With the rubber gasket, shouldn't need any sealer, and there is already a magnet in the pan. At least, there should be. ATF +4 ONLY in the trans please. And adjust the bands while you are in there. You can grab a service manual for your truck from here. Always handy to have on hand.

thanks for the link for the manual and your quick reply, i was looking to start today. From what I am reading I should change the 3-4 accumulator spring for AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION—46RH. I am assuming this is preventive.

That spring likes to break. Its more like maintenance.

I ordered the spring yesterday I should have it in a week. I bleed the brakes and changed out all the old fluid. I will get the rear diff tomorrow.. This truck was an Washington/Idaho vehicle, those bleed valves were hard to get to turn. While I was under their I applied abt a 1/2 gallon of Phosphoric acid to the frame and so I can get an idea if I had terminal cancer or surface. So far looks to be ll surface rust, it blacken up nice..
Thanks for the input you all. If anyone has any suggestion let me hear em! Almost 70 so at my age I am more a legend in my mind, but I can git er done.
