Default 2005 All-Chrysler Nationals July 8,9 & 10 (Who going this year?)

Well it's April in the northeast and the snow is starting to receed, the rain is cleaning off the roads and by the end of the month the toys come out of hiding. Car show time is just around the corner and in three months the biggest grouping of Mopar nuts this side of the Mississippi will gather in Carlisle PA.
So lets see who is coming out to play at Carlisle this year [sm=usa.gif]!!!

I will be going for the 4th straight year and I will be driving the roadrunner the 300 miles to the show. My father usually makes the trip with me and we have reservations at the Quality Inn. So if your in town stop by, and if the trunk is open have a beer..[sm=alcoholic.gif]

I have NEVER missed one yet. Was at the first one in 1991 and every year since (and I have the t-shirts to prove it!) We'll be at the Hampton Inn on rt 11. I'm hoping to have my '66 Charger there, if not, I'll bring the R/T again. We usually host one of the better parking lot parties around at night.... stop by![sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Hampton Inn is the one up by the War College right? First year up there I drove up to the guard house for directions and the "nice" man with a gun told me to turn my vechile around immeditally.... The Quality Inn is down on route 11 where 81 crosses over and I found a back road that loops up around and avoids the morning rush to the fairgrounds.
Also...
I noticed last year what looked to be new signs that prohibited "crusing" the streets? Those wheren't up before, did you notice them?

If my memory serves me, it's right next to the PA Turnpike intersection with Rt 11. (Think it's I-76?) Still a couple miles from the fairgrounds, but not bad. Didn't notice the no cruising signs, but that doesn't mean they weren't there. Route 11 is a pretty busy road with a lot of truck traffic anyway, especially between I-81 and the Turnpike..... not exactly a cruiser's mecca. That's why we usually just hang in the parking lot and party!

I know that route you're talking about... used it before when we were staying further down 11 towards Harrisburg. The Hampton is close enough that it doesn't really make a difference in our ride time. Like I said earlier, let's try to hook up at some point while we're there!

Either car you bring would be awsome you have some nice rides!!! I will keep an eye out for either one. Looks like we might be the only two from this forum going? I thought I'd post this to get a group of us together.

Is there anyone else that is going?

I haven't heard of anyone else yet. Will keep you posted on our plans as it gets closer so we can arrange to hook up someplace.

We usually head down Thursday morning- get there middle of the afternoon, head up to the fairgrounds and get our entry paperwork all squared away. Do you have your hotel arrangements made yet?

We're at the Hampton Inn on 11 in Carlisle, pretty close to the fairgrounds. We booked the rooms late last year. I've done the early morning blast before.... makes for a very LOOONG Friday. Of course, you are closer than I am to Carlisle, depending on where you are in Conn. Keep in touch- we'll try to hook up at some point during the show- 73roadrunner will be there too.
