What I do not get is they kill Pontiac but keep Buick. I think Pontiac offers much more interesting cars, but then again, that is what I like. Guess they need the "geezer" friendly cars too.

I kinda agree with you there.
The Pontiac line has a very large historical value, but what have they accomplished since the removal of the fire bird? All I can see is they butchered the GTO.
I also see why GM wants to keep the Buick line. Look at it this way: Pontiac cars really don't differ that much from GM cars. Buick is about the same way except the Luxury is between Chevy/GMC and Cadillac. Not everyone can afford a caddie, so die hard GM enthusiasts will turn to Buick. Hence the term old geezer car....
The G8 is actually a nice sedan. If I had a family and needed a sedan that moved that would be on the list. SLP announced a Firehawk made from a G8. 4.5 0-60. Well, wait, not anymore.

Pontiac's lineup is almost never anything but clone models though(just rebadged chevs mostly), whereas Buick has unique models to the GM line.
I don't get the saturn drop. Saturns sell, the models are for the most part unique, save for the van(can't remember the name, but it was a rebadged chev), the sky which was a twin of the solstice, both based on the opel speedster, and the astra which was also ported from opel.
