Form the info at my wife's dealer I read that the g8 was a late replacement for the Bonneville line. Pontiac dealers have been screaming for a full size replacement for years. The grand prix is a mid-size car. The g7 may just be a name change on the existing platform. The g6 is a compact, and the g5 is a subcompact. Plans may have changed but that was the way I understood them.
About the pricing... With the gto gm was trying to sell a name as well as a car. Thus the high price at first. Then when it saw it wasn't fooling anyone it came down.I see this car starting in the low 30's(V6) and topping out at the high 30's-low 40's. But to be honest I have not seen the pricing yet. On the other hand gm is out to lunch on the pricing of the new crossovers, so who knows!

Consider this, the Charger is roughly 201" long....the Grand Prix is 198.3" long. That's not much ofa stretch to classify the Grand Prix a fullsize ride now.
I dont know about a 30k benchmark price for a V6....unless its a GTP powered V6...because you can get the current base V6 powered Grand Prix for about 22k...

I like the Monaro version better then the GTO....but I'd still take this over the current Grand Prix....****...give me an LS2 powered RWD sedan and I'll call it a day.
That said, imagine a 400hp RWD sedan for under 37k....because I dont expect this one to be as expensive as an SRT-8....GM will try to undercut them to get the sales...and we already know the LS2 can be turbo'd and supercharged with no problem....

Besides the LS2, what other engines is it supposed to have? I hope they aren't going to have the same offerings as what MT predicted (a lower and higher output version of the 3.6L). OHC engines don't fit in brutual performance divisions. Their for luxury marketed divisions.

First of this is just the front clip. Wait till you see the whole car before you cast judgement. From the info I have seen dcx should be very nervous.
DC not going down the hole? Where have you been? DC has another "turnaround" plan coming in Feb. More buyouts and layoffs due to the fact we are losing money like its going out of style. The general has turned the corner and is going in the right direction. Ford well eh... thats another story.

BMW look-alike... WEAK!!!! Well, I dont like Pontiac so I'm gonna say it's ugly. But then again, the only good looking Pontiac is the GTO. The rest are ugly (to me). Too much hype I believe. Well, I do hope that the SRT can man-handle that sucker too!
EDIT:I don't think it will sell good either. It is a GM line of car. GM is going down the hole same as FORD. DC is the only company, so far, to not start going down the hole yet. God forbid they do.

As for DC going down the hole, sorry for being such a s.h.i.t.head who doesn't really keep up with that stuff. I guess I was thinking with my *** when writing that one. By the way, I have been in San Diego. You asked, so I thought I'd answer ya. And losing money has never even been in-style. So why would it be "going out of style?" Hmm... That's a very odd sentence there. Oh, I'm very literal, Chase would know.
