They are as much a truck as a Yugo is a sports car.

Well excuse me, the vue was killer fast for a small suv. It shocked the heck out of alot of people. I had intake and a TRD exhaust on it and that saturn ran a consisitant 6.6 0-60 on my gtech timer. The gtech is pretty accurate as it pegged my M3 at 4.7 0-60 (that is fast) Lets see your mini van run that :}

BTW, I have a Dakota. The minivan was not mine.
My motorcycle does 0-60 in under 3 seconds, which willdestroy your M3. Like I said, there's always someone quicker/faster.
Finally, G-Techs can be waay off under some circumstances, and things like elevation, temperature andatmospheric pressure can have a huge affect on times (hence NHRA correction factors). My 2000 Lightning ran a 13.1@106 at a good track (Cecil County Dragway) in great conditions (cool, dense air, good traction). I ran it later in the summer (same exact mods)at a poor track (Capitol Raceway) under poor conditions (hot, humid) and it was .6 seconds and 2 mph slower. All of which is why it is hard to compare times for two vehicles unless you know the circumstances. Since I ran my Dakota against my brother's minivan at the same track within minutes of each other, the times are directly comparable, especially since (thanks to AWD on both vehicles) no skill was involved.
Look I know it’s a truck “and not a race car” nor is the minivan a race car. I just came back from a camping trip this weekend and I saw a Toyota minivan towing a large popup loaded with six people In the van and stuff on the roof rack. They drove from the Carolinas to Florida. They didn’t need a truck to toque that ride. As much as hate to say it the Dak is a lame duck when it comes to performance. A mid size truck with a V8 should kick butt, Period! The competition (Tacoma, Frontier) have caught up in performance with their V6 and in fact will walk a 3.7 and a 4.7 and give the HO a hard run for the money. If you think the 290 HP in the 08 is going to save the day, it will for 08 and part of 09 until the Japs make the changes needed to do it all over again. Sorry but it’s just the way it is. The poor old Ram is also eating the dust of a 381 hp Tundra with the only saving grace if Dodge finally installs an optional 6.1 Hemi.
