Doesnt anyone see a problem with having the three most popular drivers in Cup all on the same team?
Now the funny cautions like the one that saved Jeffies butt at Pocono will come in flurries next year.[:'(]
NASCAR's pro Chevy/Hendricks favoritism will only get more apparent.[]

More whining from the peanut gallery.

This isnt the NBA, NFL, or MLB....there is no salary cap, there is no limit to what teams could pay Junior. Everyone had a chance to get him, but no onereally couldgive him what he wanted. Since he had no desire to drive for a crappy Ford or Dodge team, he went to the team that offered him the BEST chance to be a champion. The next best option was going to be Gibbs racing, with Tony Stewart & Denny Hamlin...

Cautions have saved people all year, and screwed people all year......Gordon isnt the only one who's benefitted from it.

Last but not least, can you blame Junior for going to Hendricks? They're the best overall program in racing, they have the best overall drivers, and he's looking to get over the hump. It wasnt about money, it was about winning......and he knew from past experience what he was going to get....

Well, we are still waiting for him to get married.
Even Jeffie's gotten hitched by now. Hmmmm.[>:]

And Devil's Reject,
MLB doesnt have a salary cap, how do think George Steinbrenner is able to buy himself big name players like Roger Clemens at will?

You're missing his one and only point, that the favoritism will be worse sense the three big favorites are on one team. If you think there isn't even the slightest bit of favoritism by NASCAR for these guys, then you're mistaken. Countless phantom cautions at just the right time over and over.

BTW, you say "some crappy Ford or Dodge team"...

The top half of the standings (top 22) is just the way it should be. Almost 50% Chevys because in total there are almost 50% Chevys. Chevys are ranked higher because they have the better drivers. Doesn't mean the Ford and Dodge teams are crappy. I suppose you're saying that Roush, Penske and Evernham are crappy? lol They just don't have the stars that Chevy does.

TOP HALF (22)
12 Chevys
6 Dodges
4 Fords

TOTAL
Chevy 21
Dodge 11
Ford 9
Toyota 7

Atleast us real Dodge fans can say that we're doing better than Ford and Toyota.

Yes, MLB doesnt have a salary cap, but they have revenue sharing, which amounts to almost the same thing. For having a payroll of 200 million, he winds up paying roughly 30-40% of that out to the rest of the league....

Oh please......werent we all up in arms just a few weeks ago over how Mark Martin got screwed? There's favortism in every sport, but I seem to recall being the favorite drivers dont always get you where you want to be. Or did Junior and Gordon missing the top 10 two years ago show anything? If anything, I think you are going to see less favortism because everyone is going to expect these guys to win week in and week out.

As for the crappy Ford or Dodge team remark......it wasnt so much the car, but the teams themselves. None of them have really put themselves in great situations, and most are still playing catchup with Chevy. Why is that? For Dodge, they've been plagued by horrible aero with two really crappy cars in the Intrepid and Charger, and they look like they are finally making progress with the Avenger. For Ford, eh they've just fallen off in recent years....

Also, wasnt it just two years ago that like 6 of the top 10 was all Ford? Which prompted the whole 4 teams per owner bit?

And bragging about doing better then Toyota is hilarious......they've ran 1/3 of a season.....and while they havent done great.....they're doing just as good as Dodge did when it re-entered NASCAR.

My point is that we've got more in the top 20 than both besides the heavily favored Chevy.

The Intrepid didn't have bad aero. The Charger did, but the Intrepid didn't. We just didn't have the drivers. If you remember, Ryan Newman racked up 11 wins in his first 3 full seasons with the Intrepid. An Average finish in the 15's. Finished 6th, 6th and 7th in points.
