one of my friends just bought an '02 mustang gt with full flowmaster exhaust(only mod), he started talking crap about my srt4 and how i couldnt beat him because mines a 4cyl and his is a v8. The mods i have on my car are 3' downpipe cat delete, 2.5' borla exhaust, mopar stage 2 w/o toys, and spiking 20lbs and holding 16-17lbs of boost, solid motor mounts, mopar stage2 coilovers, and big front mount intercooler. I know that his stang is pushin around 300hp and i was wondering if i could beat him from a stop or roll, i am also a better driver...

 

Well, his mustang is 3280lbs and your SRT-4 is 2899lbs and running in the upper 200's closer to280for HP.
So,I would'nt expect that you would beat him off the line (fwd v.s. rwd)but when yourtires stop spinning in third you would no doubt
rocket past him and leave him shamed in his big assgas guzzling ford paper weight.You also said your a better driver and that will help you more than anything good luck racing let us know how it turns out.

 

W/ those mods, he's 270 at the crank. Stock they are 260hp. It'll be a driver's race from dig, cause Stangs launch real well. From a roll, you'll annihilate him. My friend's SRT-4 w/ Stage 2 w/ Toys and a few other things,takes my 350Z from a roll everytime. And I beat up on New Edge ('99-'04) GT's from a roll quite often.

Race him, then rub it in his face after you p0wn his ***......

lol, thanks. He used to love my car wen he owned his first car (sentra ser spec-v), now that he bought a mustang gt he is all against 4cylinder cars and calls it a ricer and stuff, and thinks he can beat me now lol. it will be so funny wen i beat him.

 

Yeah, you should have no trouble w/ him. Even from a dig, you should catch and pass him by 60 or so. Provided you're a decent driver. Good luck, and let us know the outcome........

Well he came over to show me his mustang and wanted to race me also. I didnt have my srt because its geting a new clutch put in but i did have my dadsSTOCK2006 honda civic si and he wanted to race me in that. I guess to make him feel cool because he thinks the civic is slow. We went to a street by my house thats about a 1/4 long and never has ppl on it and raced from a 30mph roll. We were dead even untill i got to third and the vtec kicked in and i won by a car length.He complained i have better top end so we raced from a dig and i easily pulled a car length on him on the launch and it stayed that way until i hit third gear and he creeped up slowly and ended up beating me by half a car length. Thats pretty sad that the stock civic kept up with a mustang gt with full exhaust. I dont want to even think about wat my srt would do against him. The civic also gained alot of respect today lol.

 

Stock Civic? LMAO! he must suck at driving.

 

the new SI, when well driven, will run with an average new edge gt...especially if the gt is an automatic

 

the mustang is a 5spd manual. I also fogot to add that wen we were racing my other friend was following us in his stock2006 acura rsx type-s, after i raced the mustang he tried to race me and we did one from a stop and one from a roll and i beat him both times by a car length or two. The civic siI was driving also had 87octane in it which cuts a few horsepower while my friends cars were on 93octane.
