well, badstatrt waswrong and i broke into the10's (1/8th of a mile)and i came pretty close to matching his time, I only got to run 5 races but myfourth race I cut a 10.419 at 52 mph. it went like this.
race #1 me v.s. an old hillbilly lady in a beat up f-150(sounded like it had a big block) ended up ahead by about 1 1/2 car lengths
race #2 Me v.s. same lady, she had a better reaction time and pulled on me from the start ended up at her back bumper the whole race
race#3 me v.s. a brand new F-150 with a "triton V8" I won with a 10.5 he had a 10.7
Race #4 I was pretty pumped up for this, I was racing against a nissan 300ZX. I ran a 10.4 he ran a 10.7
Race #5 The 300ZX claimed he wasn't running right and wanted to race again, I was trying to get a good R/t and beat him off the line but ended up with a .491 R/T(redlight), If I hadn't ended up redlighting I would have won, he ran a 10.3 this time but his R/T was 1.131 I still beat him to the finish but itDoesn't count.
After getting beat off the line by the beat up hick truck I decided to lower my tire psi in the front to about 20, really helped with traction

wow, after asking around I found out that its a 1/10th of a mile track and that makes me feel pretty dumb trying to brag about times I do think I would be mid 11's? in the 1/8th. I did manage to cut a 2.6 60 ft time. pretty good isn't it?

a tenth of a mile? interesting...ive never seen one, and ive raced at many tracks. so its 528 feet long? i dont know why they didnt tack on the extra 132 feet and make it an 8th mile...its hard to compare your times to an 8th or quarter mile.

a 2.6 is not very good. the stratus pulls around 2.3-2.4, and amandas truck pulls 2.0-2.1...my white car is in the 1.6 range. i think that your car is capable of better short times, but its going to come down to finding the "Sweet spot" in your launch rpm where you arent bogging, but you arent overpowering the tires and smoking them.

yeah, this is my first time racing on a track, I was soooooo pissed when I redlit at .491
Maybe I'll be going to the 1/8th mile one soon, thats kinda far away in case anything breaks though.
I think maybe I could cut my 60 ft down to about 2.3-2.4 but that would be about it.
runnin 20 psi Up front did help alot with traction but driving home was kinda akward taking turns at 40 that i usually take at 65
I still loved beating that 300ZX, I understand that the n/a is a dog but I don't care. thinking about beating it makes me feel good at night,(the time slip I posted was me againsthim, he pulled a 2.9 60 ft time)

if you could get short times similar to mine, you may be running faster than i did...im interested to see what the car does on a bigger track. mine ran very poorly, and it was an auto. im fairly certain that with some experience youll get the car down the track quicker than that. i suggest that you take the 10th mile track as a practice track and focus on your launches...then once you get to an 8th or quarter mile, you wont have to worry about the launch.

but good for you, getting into track racing...learning how to race on a track isnt as easy as so many think, but practicing now on the shadow, a car that you really seem to enjoy, will make it easier in the future when you have a quicker car...[8D]
