Now I have messed around on the street, but I have yet to pull up to someone even at a light and just go for it. Or on the freeway for that matter. I dont like to race on the freeway, but you only live once I guess.

Im driving home today from the dodge dealer. On the freeway Im doing about 75-80. I look over and what do I see a Yellow SRT4. At first Im look cool another SRT4. I have not seen alot in my area. He sticks his hand out the window and gives me a thumbs up, and points to the road in front of him. I smile and give him a thumbs up back. Where side by side doing about 75 and we punch it. Not sure why but I pulled him by about a car 1/2 before we let off. He pulls back up next to me with windows down, and I ask him if that was an 03 or 04. He says 04. He points to the road again. This time I let him get a little jump on me. Then I drop the hammer and pull him again by about a car. He asked me if I was stock. I said yes. I just have a BOV. I asked him are you. He said no. We go again dead even. With the same outcome.

Now If this would have been a dead stop race I think it would have come down to the driver. The race was real close. But there was no doubt my car was faster. He did have 3 people in the car with him, but there where tiny little teenage girls. I had myself 280ish and my brother 270ish So I dont think it was a weight issue. I think we were about even.
If his car was modded and mines stock Im not sure why I won. But Im happy none the less.

Theres nothing wrong with losing a race to another SRT4

 

all cars are not created equal. you could have better plugs, maybe his air filter is cloged, any number of reasons.

 

Nice run! It also depends on what mods he has, he may only have a few that might not even have anything to do with horsepower. He could have the suspension modified, like strut tower braces and poly bushings or a coil over kit. The driver also has a huge impact on how well a car will perform, he may have started off in another gear, who knows. Some cars even though they are the same, come with varying power. This is why the Vipers are hand built and dyno tested to make sure that they put out at least the rated power if not more and this is also one major reason why they cost so much. Assembly line cars can vary, some will have more power than others and vice versa. You could have an unusually stronger engine or he may have an unusually weaker one. Too many variables, either way you still won and that's cool!

 

The SRT-4 guys are not going to like that fact that you beat an SRT-4

what srt-4's are not suposed to race each other? What a better test of driver and car? All cars are differnet even comming off the lot, but how much closer can you get than racing the same car as you have?

 

I love to watch 2 vehicles that are the exact same brand try to out do each other!
