Raced a Z06 Corvette today...
thats awful...we have at least 2 a year...if not more. i went last year..it was decent..but last year, all classes were heads-up, so the fastest car won, period.
by the way, i like how your neon is a bit further from the other 2 cars..so none of their ford/subaru bad rubs off on your car.

Yeah...I really don't like the track too much because of it. They seem to favor the guys who run really fast times...makin sure they have traction. But then when someone like me or basically any other sport compact rolls up there we have **** for traction. So I don't spray a 200 shot and have a big V8...forgive me for not being loud enough to make peoples' ears ring and not breaking my car every other time I run it. But I pay just as much as the people who do...so these asshats can stop being so partial to them.
its the same way at my track..but worse...
i do have a car that breaks everyones ear drums...and i do run 12s...but since im not an F body or a stang...no one cares..

Guy's I'm an old Mopar fan from way back, ....SRT4's are really quick and all.......but 10 years from now it will just be a Neon, and the Vette will still be getting the looks, and guys and ladies wanting one, and check the values even further down the road. A SRT4 will never be a Hemi or even a 340 Cuda.... I put a small block V/8 in a Vega. fast as hell. But still a Vega. Can you really say you'd rather driver your Neon than a Viper or Vette if money wasn't a factor. They're great cars, don't trash another guys ride. Anybody who looks down on your SRT probably don't know what he's looking at........not a real car guy. Feal sorry for him instead.....Off my soap box.......
Torque or turbo? hmmmmmm I'll take torque>>>>[sm=smiley2.gif]

You may have put that V8 in the Vega and it may have been fast as hell, but it didn't come that way from the factory and that is where the value and the reputation comes from, it comes from what it offers from the factory. Much like the Vega, the Darts and Dusters are very low value cars because they didn't offer much performance at all if any. However the Dart GTS' have a fairly good value and reputation because they did offer great performance since they had big blocks from the factory. If you simply buy a Dart and put a built 440 in it, it still will not have the value of the GTS.
I bet years ago you were saying the same about the Grand Nationals and how they will be seen in the future as just a Regal and nothing more. The SRT-4 will always be seen as far more than just a Neon, except by those that don't like them, all the SRT models will be remembered as being far more just like the 426 Hemi equipped cars. And no I am not comparing them to the mighty Hemi or saying that they will ever be the legendary icon that it was and is, but the SRT models will be far more valued than the lesser models just as a Hemi Cuda is far more valued and respected than a 340 Cuda.
Turbochargers generally produce more torque than horsepower just like a big V8. The SRT-4 is the same as it is 230 horsepower and 250 torque, more torque than horsepower.

i think opinions of the SRT4 are very biased one way or the other. while i still may get one, i feel that most people who drive them act as though they drive mclarens. they are very fast, for what they are. would i rather have an SRT4 over a c6? no
would i rather have an SRT4 than an older auto vette? absolutely.
the reason that i havent gotten the SRT4 yet, is that all of the non-drivetrain parts are not very impressive. dont get me wrong...theyre fast as modern cars go...but its still only a 4 door neon with alot of power. thats what i dont like about it.

If I had the opportunity to get another Mopar musclecar instead of an SRT-4, I would have another Mopar musclecar without question.[sm=exactly.gif] Some may tend to overrate the SRT-4, but I've never seen any claim it to be like a McLaren, although it is.[sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=roll.gif]JK JK
The suspension and the seats are also far different from the Neons. It took me a few years of looking the SRT-4 over before I finally chose to buy one, I use to hate it for the same reasons you do, the 4 doors and the fact that it is still basically a Neon. If it were not for the Neons domination in SCCA racing I would never have bought my R/T and that combined with the awesome performance of the SRT-4 is why I finally bought one of them.[sm=exactly.gif]
