I was included in the 4 guys. And I dunno if this guy was really wanting to race since his girlfriend was in the car but I do know that he sucked and that i trashed him and his accord. Also, we started racing about 60 mph. My car loves speeds from about 80 - 100. So i say: No BS.

Hey 71, have you ever driven a Daytona? because you are underestimating what it can do.

If your Daytona is a turbo car you should have beaten the accord. That's tremendous if you did it in a normally aspirated 2.5 car.

I've been doing a bit of research myself and my guess is that the guy in the Accord didnt have the ***** to really race. The interstate we were on had a speed limit of 65 mph and I pretty well left him in the dust about the time I hit 95. So I figure that he just didnt want to go any faster.

But in response to BadStratRT, My daytona has a naturally aspirated 2.5L with a custom air intake and 3" exhaust. It has a three speed automatic (though I hope to be able to put a 5-speed in).

I am a lucky man! My Grandmother bought the car new in 1988 and kept it in immaculate condition. When she gave it to me for my graduation, I was extremely excited! And I dont plan on parting with it anytime soon.

No, you are just overestimating what they can do. If you were even talking about a Turbo I Daytona you couldn't have won if he was trying. You might have been able to with a Turbo II Daytona, Shelby Z, but they are far heavier than your average Daytona since they are fully loaded with all the power options.

I know exactly what they can do, if you read my first post you would know that, since I mentioned it. I have had 2 Daytonas, an '87 Daytona Shelby Z with a stock 2.2L Turbo II and 5-spd. A-555 and the other was an '88 Daytona Shelby Z with a 30 over 2.2L Turbo II, K & N, MSD Blaster 2 ignition coil, Accel Super Stock wires, Mopar Performance PCM, filled motor mounts and 5-spd. A-555. Almost everything in the '88 was replaced or rebuilt including the engine and transmission, it was almost mechanically new. I know a little about Daytonas, turbocharged or not.
