We do all of our races from a 40 mph roll.

My friend had a 01 S2k and now has a 04 S2k he has a intake on it and i drove his car and he drove my 04 srt with turbo back.. he even admits my car is faster in the 1/4 but i must say that car will tear me up in the turns.. the redline is a lil lower than the 01-03 i belive it is but it has a lil more tourqe. a nice car but defentily not a drag racer. his 01 had almost every bolt on besides a supercharger and he sqeaked a 13.4 i think like 1 time. those cars are really tricky to launch he said the sweet spot is between like 4200 and 4400 to just get enough wheel spin.. so yea.. there ya go.

40mph is a bad spot for an S2k because it'll be stuck in 2nd gear when 1st gear goes to about 51mph. Second gear goes to about 73mph IIRC. Off the line, I think if you can launch well and if the S2000 driver is willing to do a 8,500rpm dump clutch, it should be a close race throughh the 1/4 mile. Otherwise, if the S2000 driver doesn't do that, it's all in your ballpark.

If your talking straight line then the SRT-4 will eat the S2000 alive, but as some have already said, if it's through some twistys then it will be the other way around. The S2000 has nothing on an SRT-4 in straight line performance, just as the SRT-4 has nothing on an S2000 when it comes to handling.

The s2000 runs 14.0 to 14.3 in the quarter. Should actually be a good race, with the srt-4 just edging it out at the end. I think the srt-4 will win from a 40 roll, by a little bit. The s2000 will out handle it, probably, but with a good driver, and a little higher tire pressure, an SRT-4 does a lot better than you think in the handling department, it would be close, because the srt-4 can torque through corners real well.

that is true a srt-4 isnt as bad as i thought and the 04 S2000 doesnt handle as good as the 01 the 01 had the stiffist suspension but due to the harsh ride every year the s2k got a lil softer due to the complaints of the buyer(most s2k owers are old retired people) and the 04 has a 0 camber stock setting so it doesnt wear the inner tire out like the older models. but the s2000 is defintaly a better road racer as far as stock vs stock goes. due to me and my friend are of about = skill we both raced in SCCA and he goes to lugna seca with all the s2k guys, we messed around in a local mountain trackand in the straights i pull on him but he can carry better speed thru the turns.. so i guess it just depends on the course /drver ability i must say the the LSD helps a lot on the srt-4 compared to the 03's
