Destroyed a GTO
Me and a couple of friends have been wrenching like crazy to get our rides back together for racing season, mine's the only street car in the bunch.
Anyway It ran an 11.8 so far and I'm hoping for mid 11's with some tuning.
So I'm driving it to work the other day and up pulls a new GTO at the light.
He looks over and gives me a thumbs up, I do the same even though I think GM didn't do the GTO justice and should made it look better.
He points forward and grins and I give him the ok and wait for him to leave first.
It was all over by the time we reached the other side of the intersection, he must have known it was coming since he caught up and gave me a big thumbs up as I turned off to head to work.
Man it's good to have the Bird back on the street.

sounds like a 2004 Pontiac GTO w/ the LS1 you were running w/... thats 5.4 seconds to 60mph w/ the auto and 5.3 seconds w/ the Termec T-56 6-speed manual. The 2005 Pontiac GTO has the 400 horsepower LS2 w/ 0-60mph times of 4.5 seconds w/ the manual and 4.4 seconds w/ the auto.

Thanks!
I don't know what year the GTO was. I really like what Ford did with the Mustang, I wish Dodge had made the Charger a little more retro. Those Chargers are some of the most beautiful cars ever designed in my opinion, my favorite is the '68.
Redriderbob, my 0-60 times are about 3 seconds at the track and probably 4 or so on the street due to traction issues.

I agree! Nice Coronet by the way, I always wanted a 69, I had a 68 R/T that I loved (oh those taillights!), but my friend kept begging me for it so I finally sold it to him and he ended up selling it in about 2 months!
What a jerk, needless to say, I will never sell him another car, he's only in it for the money.
I love my cars and when I sell one, it usually goes to someone who cares about them as well.

I'm the same way with my cars, but the Neon R/T just had to be sold quickly so I could get the SRT-4. The '87 Shelby Z was previously a wrecked car and didn't matter that much, but my '88 Shelby Z did and that's why I sold it to someone I know well.
