Default ...drag racing Durango's?

Howdy, does anyone know of any Drag racing Durango's?? I think that with a little lightening(ie, transfer case removal, front axle replacement etc...) that Durango's could probably do well at bracket racing. Am I the only one thinking this ?

Possibly, but you have to remember who buys durangos.. Usually it's people wanting to haul kids around, but they just can't justify a minivan just yet.

Kind of the same reason you don't see a lot of full sized trucks on the strip too.

why not do both have a semi racing car and haul the kids at the same time.

The D can be made into a cool sleeper to run at the strip on the weekend, but that's about it. 4wd is the key, so removing it would be a bad move.

Yes, well, I was arriving at that conclusion in my post, but no one really noticed it.

That and the weight transfer would be interesting to say the least.

And the whole kid argument... Eh, I'm not sure how well I would enjoy the thought of having two kids in the back of a modded out SUV. Just something about me stomping on it and then watching as a little carton of chocolate milk slams into the back glass making a mess all over the place.... Oh god, fries! Sheesh.

Or how about that time when the punk ricer shows up wanting to show off and you scare the living hell out of your kids when the *** end of the SUV squats down and launches??? Just too much for many wives and kids.

Default ...racing D...

Hey guys, When I go down to the Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle PA next summer they have Mopar Only drag nite at the strip in Boiling Springs. Its" an eigth mile strip thats not too sticky ... I might be tempted to run my Durango "loredda" down the strip. Do you think the 9 and a quarter (full posi Suregrip/3.55 gears) could hold up ok for a few passes (no slicks and I"d leave it in 2 wheel drive) ?...kingoftow

The 9.25 should be fine? It's what the Ram 1500's have (with a hemi, no less).
