I usually get races with the usual mustangs or other older musclecars, no Vipers even wanted to play yet, maybe it's the 440 talking through the flowmasters.

 

are you sure that your trap speed was only 96 mph? i can understand a 2.0 60' time with bad traction, and your 1/8th mile time was 7.98, which is about the same as some of mine, again, i chalk that up to early traction issues, but you dont have a mph, and your top end was kind of bad...did you let off hoping to stay in the 12s to avoid the cage rule?

 

Not all tracks have the same 12 second rule Pat.

 

i know, its dependant on the rules of the sanctioning body....ihra is 11.49 and faster...NHRA is 11.99.

when did they change that rule? i dont have an NHRA rulebook anymore...because our series was IHRA sanctioned, but last time i ran NHRA rules it was 11.99

 

They changed this year, I gueass a bunch the stock appearing cars were in the 11's in that class so they changed it for them.

 

hmm...i see...my home track was IHRA starting last year, and i dont think that i was at a single NHRA track in the last 2 years...my one trip to the track this year was shortened because some moron in a cutlass lost it and rolled 14 or 15 times...hit the other car..it was a big mess.

 

Yeah, we have an NHRA track so I was relieved when the rules changed, no cage yet!
