You were that close to him?? I thought he would have blown your doors off, not to say you car is slow by any means, but they are pretty quick for a cheby.

 

It depends on what year the Vette is. In 1985 the Vette only had 185 horsepower, my Shelby Z dead stock would have eaten one of them alive.

 

It was more like the early 90's.
"newer" body style. Not a 2004 Z06 or anything like that.not a 70's either
It was fast though. My 1st 2nd 3rd gears are unbeatable most of the time.
Maybe he was playing with me... but his car sounded like it was work'n hard to me.

i dont know whats up...
i pulled up to a light and had a race to 120kph against a lexus is300
and toasted him good.Then about an hour later i miss shifted (and could not catch up) and was "killed" by a pontiac minivan...Down a hill.
WTF
It seems to be that either i've had a bad day or i've wasted $5000 bucks
getting this car to run the way i like (not to say i like when vans blow me away)
Wow, this is really getting me down in the dumps. Unless that van was making big BIG power i dont see how he beat me. Damn it, I cant wrap my brain around this.
I can eat mustangs, is300's,all rice *****,and most anything in in my way
But not a fk'n minivan.[sm=smiley11.gif]Its making me sick.

 

I know of a few Dodge mini vans runnin' mid-low 12's, so don't get too down on yourself.

Had a few of those before. On my way back from Randolph Air Force Base today, a young man (pilot?) in a black BMW something or another pulled up beside me at the main gate exit red light. I didn't look at him since we were legally on Federal property and the guards are naturally jumpy.....so we both make smoooooth, gentle left hand turns out of the gate and "punch it" at the same time (at about 25 mph). I realize right away I'm in too high of a gear 'cause the BMW is starting to pull up even with me. I click it down a gear, let it wind out to 5500 rpm, and suddenly, the BMW is in my rear view mirror, not my side view mirror....I hope the other driver isn't going to Iraq anytime soon......

 

Now isn't that just fun to do.[sm=smiley2.gif]
