Recently my truck got a little change to it's Cataytic Converter... we'll call it a high flow. Today was her first test with the new set up.

We were are on the way to my son's school to pick him up, it's a little after 11am. I roll up to a light and there is a 1997-1998 Mustang GT next to me, on the passenger side, blaring awful music. Patrick made a comment about "there's a Mustang for you".

I didn't think it would run, I didn't really give it any indication that I would race him... the light turned green and I hammered it, as did he... he spun his tires a little, and I had the pedal to the floor. The Mustang was REALLY trying, he had it floored and he never caught me, I just walked away. We raced until about 85mph... and I had him every step of the way.

Nothing too exciting... just wanted to share.

A stock 97-98 Stang GT is only pushing 230 HP, and it's a fairly heavy car. The Cobra's are a different story though.

 

The old 5.0 liters always have been pretty weak. They have what i like to call a "bad good reputation". They are light and have a lot of potential but stock they are nothing.

 

eh, those years of cobras were pigs too...stock.

 

Take it from me, stock GT's are slow slow slow, however killin a 4.6 in a great job for the Ram.
