The one who can handle the launch the best is gonna win this one. Theyre both relativly close. Ive seen some SHO's hall some serious ***. Just make shure you get a good launch off and you should win this one. I must say though its gonna be a close race. Now if you were runnin a R/T TT or a VR-4 well you wouldnt have to worry lol.

Remember that while those era Tauruses were nothing special, the entire engine and drivetrain in the SHO has nothing to do with Ford, it was all built by Yamaha. The SHO engines were actually capable of revving past 8000 RPM. They had to use a rev limiter to slow the little monster down because it would ruin the Ford made belt driven accessories it was connected to. SHOs have been built to over 600hp on totally stock internals, so the little 3.0 in the SHO is no joke. Add this to the fact that the Stealth is quite a bit hevier, and I think the SHO will win. Don't get me wrong, I would rather have a Stealth any day, but the SHO in not slow by any means.

Here are the numbers on both:

1991 Dodge Stealth ES 0-60 MPH: 7.1 1/4 mile: 15.6
1995 Ford Taurus SHO 0-60 MPH: 7.7 1/4 mile: 15.8

The Stealth wins by a hair.

Ok, first off the automatic SHO's got a few more cubic inches. The auto's were bumped to 3.1L or 3.2L not 3.0L. Second the mph should be included in the ¼ mile times. The SHO should be close to 95 mph while the R/T will be closer to 90. Once moving and traction is no longer an issue the SHO pulles very hard all the way to 140+ mph stock. Your best bet is to put some distance on the SHO out of the hole, and look for the SHO to start passing you, kinda fast too, just after the ¼ mile mark. If you race from a roll, I think you will be toast.

That's rather obvious by the difference made up from the 0-60 MPH and it's 1/4 mile time as it came from .6 behind to only .2 behind between the two points measured.
